quo vadis

one of the highlights of my day was watching tv and seeing an advert for a really old period movie called quo vadis. why is this exciting you ask cause its about Nero <3 the lovable madman...okay well...it also had a scene of Rome burning which is what happens in Tacitus' Annals book XV...the one we study !!! i was so excited...sadly Nero isn't as good looking as the picture of his bust in our latin room so i don't think i'll watch it. he was kinda icky looking in the movie...oh well...i think it's generally agreed that caligula takes the cake though...poor nero ...so much to live up to.

anyway on my teeth. most of the swelling seems to have gone down there is a bit of brusing and i'm losing my double chin which is a thumbs up. and a nurse rang yesterday which i thought was really nice and said that it wasnt wierd that i more swollen on one side, again thumbs up.

but what i logged on here to say was that as i was getting the anethesia they were asking me what subjects i like and i said ummm.. english, latin, umm..history and they were like oh! latin! and im like O.O uh-oh. i know enough to know that when people go 'oh latin' they gonna ask you a question about it. thinking it was delightful that they were being so friendly i was also terrified about the question. and rightly so. 'whats a gerund?' O.O i felt my answer was less than decent 'umm..a verbal adjective..i think' ...

so i looked it up and found it was not as horrible an answer as i thought. simply put a gerund is a verbal noun, a gerundive is a verbal adjective. and now i kinda understand them. hopefully
